Me & Mine

"The fact is that most putts don't drop, most beef is tough, most children grow up to be just people, most successful marriages require a high degree of mutual toleration, and most jobs are more often dull than otherwise. Life is just like an old time rail journey.... delays, sidetracks, smoke, dust, cinder, and jolts, interspersed only occasionally by beautiful vistas and thrilling bursts of speed. The trick is to thank the Lord for letting you have the ride." President Gordon B. Hinckley

Christmas Chaos

It has definitely been a memorable Christmas...

Christmas morning at 6 am, about 2 hours before we usually get up, Lulu woke us up- not because she was excited but because she was sad and wanted to lay by Cody and I in our bed. Two seconds later, she puked in our bed. Cody took off the sheets and started the laundry, I threw Lulu in the shower, and that's how our morning started. After that fun died down, we opened presents, then called my family and canceled our Christmas plans, then took naps and had a lazy quiet Christmas. We never even got out of our pjs. Lulu got this Baby Alive doll that takes as much work as Charlie! She didn't throw up the rest of the day and was quite happy but it still changed everything.
I don't think Charlie was feeling too hot either because he was a booger that day! Just mad and uncomfortable. He is normally very easy-going so it was sad. We cuddled a lot that day. Fine by me!

It was fun to have a quiet family day. Not at all what we had planned on.

Lulu also got this pop-up princess tent and she LOVES it!

And Cody gave me an AWESOME Nikon camera so that I can take amazing pictures like this with beautiful color and no obnoxious digital delay that makes me always catch Lulu when she is looking down. I can actually get her pretty blue eyes on camera now! I'm so happy.

Lulu played with all her new toys most of the day...

We watched some great Christmas specials...

And cuddled a lot!!

Then later that night after Cody made us delicious Christmas tacos, :) I asked him to start a nice warm fire in the wood burning stove in our fireplace. This has never been attempted here before so there were a few problems. After 5 minutes, this is what our living room looked like!

After about an hour, we had a beautiful fire and we all smelled like we had been camping.

My parents rescheduled their Christmas festivities for Sunday so that we could all be there. So sweet. Lulu got completely spoiled with all things girl. I blame my parents for the diva she is becoming. We all just love her too much. She has my dad so whooped.

The twins fell asleep on the floor at 6 pm, even with all the noise and craziness-Logan was face down.

Charlie fell asleep in my arms while I was opening presents for him. So sweet.

And let's not forget Cody's Saturday night fun. He was hanging closet doors and cracked his head open! At 9 pm, we were at Urgent Care so he could get 5 stitches in his shiny bald head. Not great for a man that sports a hairdo like his.

On Monday, I got to see my friend Melanie and her cute kids. She lives in Illinois now so I don't get to see her often.

Her new baby Ezra is 3 months younger than Charlie.

Her little girl Chloe is almost a year younger than Lulu but they are both divas! They had moments of fun and moments of competition for who could be the strongest-willed.

And last but not least, here is a cute picture of my Cody waiting for his bacon to cook tonight. See it's a good thing I'm not the kind of wife that cooks a hot meal for him every single night because then I wouldn't have captured this cute moment.

I LOVE MY FAMILY AND CHRISTMAS AND MY NEW CAMERA!!
