Me & Mine

"The fact is that most putts don't drop, most beef is tough, most children grow up to be just people, most successful marriages require a high degree of mutual toleration, and most jobs are more often dull than otherwise. Life is just like an old time rail journey.... delays, sidetracks, smoke, dust, cinder, and jolts, interspersed only occasionally by beautiful vistas and thrilling bursts of speed. The trick is to thank the Lord for letting you have the ride." President Gordon B. Hinckley

Happy birthday to Lulu!!!

Here's a picture of all the gifts Lulu got for her birthday! Her daddy bought her that trike and she loves it! Grandma Cherry and Papa Mike let her ride the Frontrunner down to Gateway and make a build-a-bear; its a ballerina, of course, and she got a lot of dress up clothes, dolls, hair bows, princess stuff, its all so girly and she just loves it!

Blowing out her candles. We just had a quiet night with the family on her actual birthday and it turned out perfect after all the family celebrations.

Posing in one of her princess outfits. She had to come to a monthly prego check-up with me for her birthday and of course she wore a princess frock with the plastic high heels, crown, and purse. You can't fight the outfit on her birthday!! She pranced down the hallways and loved the attention the whole time at the hospital. I love this girl and I feel blessed to be the main person in her life.

I love this yard and this kid!

First of all, this post needs to come with a "Thank You" and a "Sorry" to my friend Jenny Hickman. We have been in this house since they moved out in December and we just continue to love it more and more. Thank you for leading us to this house and sorry if this post makes you sad. This girl worked so hard in the yard for the 7 years she lived here and now we are reaping the benefits. I LOVE LOVE LOVE this yard.

This week, I painted the door! I love it and it just makes it look even more like a cute little cottage. I also painted the shutters black and it looks really good. The door used to be white and the shutters were green. It was really cute that way but now its more "us."

Here is a picture of the house after the paint job was finished. We are having our first family BBQ here this weekend for Lulu's birthday and so we've been working hard to get it ready.

Wherever we move from here on out til I die, my one request is that it already have a yard that is created and that I just have to maintain. I don't have the vision to create a yard by myself but I can maintain what someone else did and this is my new favorite hobby.

This is Oakley and Lulu helping me garden. They are great helpers and love all the flowers as much as I do. This garden is titled "Oakley's garden." She has adopted it and plans to be its caretaker all summer.

And I just had to post this picture of my cute Lulu the night she performed her solo at the dance idol competition. She loves to dress up and dance and have all the attention. She still talks about that night.

We bought her a trike for her birthday and its been so fun to watch her learn how to pedal. She is so proud that she is a big girl. Last night, she wrapped her arms around my neck and said, "Oh Mom, I'm so glad you're here." Love this girl so much.

My baby!

Our little Lulu is turning 3 on the 27th! What??! These are her pictures from her first year of dance. Come on! This kid is cute!

Dancing is her passion. She loves the spotlight and it doesn't matter if its Sounds for Sunday or Cody's thug rap, she is dancing to it. She did a solo at my mom's dance idol competition to her favorite song "Popular" and if I can get Cody to show me how to put video on here, I'll post it. She has no fear and it was so cute to see her dance. It comes straight from her heart.

A Spring Picnic

Lulu and I had a picnic yesterday in the beautiful Spring weather. This weather makes me happy. So does my sweet little girl who has to wear dance clothes EVERYDAY and who insists on having tea parties everytime we eat. What doesn't make me happy is the entire two pound bag of birdseed that spilled all over the kitchen floor while I was making our picnic!! I was going to take a picture but then realized I didn't want to see that mess again so I didn't. I'm sure glad my husband is out of a job right now so he could help me clean up that disaster. :)
