Me & Mine

"The fact is that most putts don't drop, most beef is tough, most children grow up to be just people, most successful marriages require a high degree of mutual toleration, and most jobs are more often dull than otherwise. Life is just like an old time rail journey.... delays, sidetracks, smoke, dust, cinder, and jolts, interspersed only occasionally by beautiful vistas and thrilling bursts of speed. The trick is to thank the Lord for letting you have the ride." President Gordon B. Hinckley

Recital Night!

Yes I know this recital was over a month ago but my camera is cooperating right now and letting me get pictures so I better do this now. On December 3rd, I had my first dance recital of my new studio. I've been teaching at another studio in North Ogden for the past 4 years so I'm not a complete newby but this was my first time of being the head honcho and it was fun and hard and wonderful and way more rewarding! Here is a picture of all the girls at dress rehearsal. I have about 70 students and we're completely recreational. No competitions, just basic coordination and technique skills, 2 super cute costumes for the year, and 2 recitals! I think it was a big success.

This is one of my 3 to 5 year old classes. They danced to "I Won't Say I'm in Love" off Hercules.
These girls are the 6 to 8 year olds. There are 16 girls in this class so some are missing from this picture. That is way too big of a class. I'm splitting it into 2 for sure next year! But they danced to "Fabulous" off High School Musical 2. It was so cute to see their "fabulous" attitudes while they danced.
These girls are my 5 to 7 year olds. I love this class. They danced with umbrellas to a medley of "Singing in the Rain" and "It's Raining Men." I was really proud of this class. It was adorable!
This is the other class of 3 to 5 year olds. This is the class Lulu is in. She's on the very end. They danced with teddy bears to "Dream a Little Dream" and at the end of the song, they ran back to that giant teddy bear behind them and pretended to fall asleep then lullaby music started and their daddies came onto the stage and scooped them up and took them off. I cried.
It was a great night. I have been seeing my students all over town and I've missed them! I'm excited to start classes again in January. I am so grateful I get to do this.

New Chapter...

Ok so I finally figured out how to make my camera transfer some pictures but they didn't publish in the order I wanted so just try to keep up anyway. On a side note, if anyone wants to come give me a blogger lesson, I'll gladly take it! :) Anyway, we are officially moved into our new home. I feel so incredibly blessed right now. No noisy neighbors to share walls with, a big beautiful yard with a garden and perennial flowers, I can't wait for the spring, and I just feel so comfy and happy here. I love old homes and this one is perfect for us. We may have to add on if we try adding another family member someday but we're squished and cozy and so happy! I love this place. Here is our family picture in front of the tree. I miss Cody's face. He is still hot but I'm sick of kissing sand paper.

This is Lulu on Christmas morning. We mainly got a house for Christmas so Santa was skimpy on the gifts this year. Lulu would never know it though because I think Santa unloaded the whole Toys R' Us store at my parents house! All she wanted was a pinky dolly and Tinkerbell big girl panties but she got more stuff than she knows what to do with. Cody and I gave each other a $20 limit this year and I think someone stole his gift because I can't find it anywhere! I feel so bad. But he gave me "quality time." That's my love language. :) I got two games and he even did a stocking for me. Cute boy.

This is the kids settling in on MY bed! Can you tell we made Lulu fake sleep so it'd look better? The twins were really out though. They're usually done by 7:00 pm.
This post was supposed to be first. This was the madness of moving-in-day!
And this was us moving out of Irma's earlier that day!

NEW HOUSE!!

I was going to post some pictures of the move but I just can't figure this camera out so it will have to wait until my brilliant but busy husband has a minute to help me. Anyhow... WE MOVED!!! We now, for the first time in our marriage, have walls of our own! We lived in a townhouse when we were first married. then a duplex, then Irma's so this is big exciting news for us to have all this space and a yard to ourselves and I love it! It is small and old and has a lot of charm. It's in a great neighborhood and I think we will really like our ward. This is the perfect Christmas gift for me and I know it puts a lot more pressure on my husband with bills and what not but I have not been this comfortable and happy for over 2 1/2 years now so YAY!! Also. if you want to see some cute clips from mine and Lulu's big recital night. go to facebook and look at Cody Hurd's page. Lulu was not feeling real hot but she did a great job and I made it through my first recital that I was fully in charge of! It's a big job but the night turned out great and I was proud of all my girls.
